Out of an abundance of caution we will not be having Movie Monday tonight 7/27. My wife's co-worker tested positive for Covid. Although Ariel was not in direct contact with her co-worker, to be extra safe we have decided to not have Movie Monday.
Thank you for understanding and we hope to see you next week!

If you have not seen me or met me yet, my name is Josh Day, and I am the new Youth Director at Live Oak Church. Ariel and I are incredibly excited to be here at Live Oak and cannot wait to get to know everyone!
I'd like to take a moment, share about myself to help you get to know me better.
I have felt a call to youth ministry since around the 7th grade. I followed that calling by attending Abilene Christian University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Ministry with an emphasis in Youth and Family Ministry. During my four years at ACU, I interned for a youth director each summer. I interned at three different churches to gain as much knowledge of varying church cultures as possible. While at ACU, I met my wife Ariel, who received a Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as minors in Chemistry, Nutrition, and Bible, Missions, and Ministry.
After graduating from ACU, we moved to south Houston where I served as the director of student ministries at a chur...
As adults, we know that the fight against racism has been going on for years, but after the recent killing of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and more and the protests that followed, there has been a renewed focus on racism and the fight for racial equality. As Christians, we are called to do more than just “not offend”, we are called to be repairers of the broken and participate in God’s work of redemption in the world. Taking the time to reflect on the events in the recent weeks and praying for those who are hurting deeply right now is so important for us to do before we take these next steps.
It’s more vital than ever that we also think about how our children are responding to current events. Diving into discussions about race and racism often prompts kids to ask questions about everything that is happening in the world. Children are naturally curious and want to make sense of what is going on around them. And they deserve to kn...

June 12 | Friday | 7pm
We're throwing a social distancing front yard party at the church. Katie will be in town one last time to see everybody.
Bring a lawn chair and sit on the church porch
Or drive through & tell her goodbye from your car
Katie has blessed our church in so many ways & we want to love on her a little as we send her off to a new ministry in Houston. This will be your last chance to see her at LiveOak (she will not be here for the outdoor worship gatherings).
Online Worship Only - no in-person gathering
Our Elders and staff are working hard to navigate the best practices with COVID-19. While we felt that our in-person and outdoor worship on June 14 was handled safely, we have decided not to hold an in-person gathering tomorrow - June 28. We want to be good neighbors and do our part to help Texas stop the spread of this virus. We look forward to opportunities in the near future to meet on our church campus. Until then, we are enjoying gathering with you all at liveoak.online.church each Sunday at 10:30am.
Outdoor Worship Gatherings on the Church Grounds June 14 & 28
Our Elders & staff are carefully watching and praying about the best way to re-open our campus while being a good neighbor to our community and caring for our family members that are high-risk. We will continue to offer our online worship gatherings every Sunday at 10:30am for the foreseeable future.
And our team is excited to announce that we will be able to add two in...
