Dr. Thorpe has experience working with multiple churches during a time of transition and is familiar with the process needed to find a new pastor. We are very excited to be working with him as he helps shepherds us during this uncertain time!
Ali was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas. Not only has she always been very involved in children's ministry in her home church, but she has also served on Kid's Ministry staff at two local churches. It was during high school she felt God's call on her heart to serve in children's ministry. She attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor where she studied Christian Studies (ministry) and Art. After college, Ali started her own business doing freelance graphic design and custom art, as well as selling products she designs in her online store. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, spending time with her family and playing with her cat, Glitter. Ali is very excited to serve the children and parents of Live Oak church!
Josh brings a wealth of passion and experience to our team having led youth ministries in Abilene, Houston, and Liberty Hill. He has a degree in Bible and Ministry: Youth and Family Ministry from Abilene Christian University. He is now a Graduate Resident of the Center for Youth Ministry Training (CYMT), seeking his Masters in Youth Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Josh feels called to serve youth, helping them to develop a foundation of their faith better equipping them for life after high school. Josh enjoys playing board games, drinking coffee, and doing CrossFit with his wife, Ariel. Josh and Ariel have two dogs Boots and Stella.
Artha Weaver is an educator, vocalist, and worship leader with a heart for singing and getting others to share in making their own song. A recent graduate of Concordia University Texas in Music Ministry, she is currently the Band Director and Director of Campus Worship at Concordia High School, she teaches voice at Leander Middle School and Wiley Middle School (as well as privately to students of all ages), sings professionally with Austin-based Inversion Ensemble and the Concordia Singers, and is excited to join the staff at Live Oak Church!
