Message for Live Oak Church from Pastor Scott Nowack

My family and I are excited and thrilled to join Live Oak Church! We have prayed continually for God to lead us to where we can honor and serve Him. And we believe Live Oak is the place!

We look forward to meeting every one of you very soon. Please pray for us in the weeks and months ahead as we seek to find a new home in our new community. We hope to partner with you as we make and build disciples of Jesus together through worship, study, fellowship, and service.

It’s no secret there is much to be done. We’ve been through a lot of traumatic changes the last twenty months. Now is the time to get started. Recall with me the story of Nehemiah. Nehemiah returned home to Jerusalem from exile to find the city laying in ruins. After assessing the situation, Nehemiah and the people of God committed themselves to the work of rebuilding the mighty walls of Jerusalem, so they committed themselves to the common good (Nehemiah 2:20). We must do the same. It will require all of us to commit ourselves to one another, like a brotherhood or sisterhood, demonstrating compassion, faith, and grace all based in love. If we can do this, God will use Live Oak Church in a mighty way.

May we commit ourselves to one another and to God to be the church of Jesus Christ where everybody is welcome, nobody is perfect, and anything is possible.

May God bless you and may God bless Live Oak Church!

In Christ,

Pastor Scott Nowack
