Meet Our New Pastor
Scott was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. Baptized in the Presbyterian Church, he grew up living in various communities in New Jersey before moving to Syracuse, New York when he was in the eighth grade. He graduated from Westhill High School in 1989 and from Muhlenberg College in 1993 with a B.A. in History/Government.
After college, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked for the Crucible Materials Corporation as an Account Sales Representative. It was there when he began to discern a call to the ministry. In the fall of 1995, he decided to pursue a seminary education to further discern his call at Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey, earning his Master of Divinity degree in 1999. He was ordained as a Teaching Elder/Pastor later that year.
In his twenty-two years of professional ministry, Scott served churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as an Associate Pastor and churches in Kilgore and New Braunfels, Texas as a Senior Pastor.
Scott and his wife D’Anna have been joyfully married since 2006. They have three wonderful children: Michael (12), Marissa (11), and Meredith (8). D’Anna is a licensed speech-language pathologist. She is adjunct faculty at Baylor University and the University of St. Augustine where she teaches and mentors future speech-language pathologists. Marissa and Meredith are heavily involved in gymnastics competitions. Michael loves football, basketball, and video games. He plays the trumpet in the school band. He loves to play golf, basketball, football, and lift weights. You can find him cheering on his favorite professional sports teams (NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knicks) and college teams (Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn State, & UT) in his free time. They watch movies together as a family, enjoy taking trips to new places, and spend time with friends and family.
