Letter from the Pastor

LiveOak Church

Leander, TX 78641

Dear friends,

After some thoughtful reflection and prayer, I have decided it is time for me to step down as the Pastor of LiveOak Church effective November 20, 2022. I have concluded that the gifts and skills needed to be the pastor of LiveOak Church do not match the gifts and skills I bring to the table. Also, the current financial situation of the church has weighed heavy on me since I arrived at LiveOak. I also know I have made some mistakes, both things I have done and things I have left undone that in hindsight I would have done differently.

While I will always hold you with love in my heart, I will no longer be your pastor. I will pray for you, and I will think of you as dear friends, but I will no longer be able to perform any pastoral duties among you (baptisms, weddings, hospital calls, funerals) after November 20, 2022.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives sharing in your triumphs and accomplishments as well as your struggles and hardships. It has been a true honor. All of you have enriched my life and my faith in ways that I can only begin to fathom. As elders on Session, we labored together as God’s people to be a thriving community where “Everybody is Welcome, Nobody is Perfect, and Anything is Possible”.

I do not know what God has in store for me. However, I believe in a mighty God who leads me beside still waters and restores my soul. Our God is forever faithful!

It is difficult to say good-bye. I care a great deal about all of you. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our Lord and minister in His name.

Blessings and Peace,

The Reverend Scott Dennis Nowack
